ROOTS 2 RUNWAY, presented by The Row Brixton is an experiential fashion and cultural activation taking place across Market Row during Black History Month.

This is not a traditional fashion show. It is a live cultural experience bringing together fashion, art, models, styling, music, performance, storytelling and conversation.

Seven independent Black creatives bring their work to life, giving audiences the opportunity to discover their work, experience the stories behind it, meet the creatives and engage with independent fashion and culture.

Explore Market Row, support Brixton businesses, discover independent fashion, connect with the community and stay for the music.

Our Designers

Bold vision, precision craft. These independent designers and studios are redefining British streetwear and contemporary fashion, each with a distinct voice, a commitment to sustainability, and a deep connection to culture and community. From deconstructed denim to structured silhouettes, their work celebrates heritage, identity and the power of making things by hand.

CHÉ REID

Structured silhouettes, street style, dancehall culture, and modern roots. Ché Reid is a London-based designer and the creative force behind CHÉ REID LTD, an independent British apparel label established in 2012. Blending the sharp lines of precision tailoring with the raw energy of urban streetwear, Reid draws deep inspiration from dancehall culture, its rhythm, its boldness, and its unapologetic self-expression, while staying rooted in a modern, forward-looking design language.

The result is clothing that feels both architectural and alive: sculpted shapes softened by cultural authenticity, and a distinct British sensibility infused with global influences.

ÀṢẸ BOUTIQUE

Kola Okusanya is the founder and creative force behind ÀṢẸ BOUTIQUE, an independent fashion and lifestyle brand built around individuality, quality and creative expression.

CHINAKWE

Caroline Chinakwe is a British-Nigerian multidisciplinary artist and cultural entrepreneur whose work explores identity, heritage, and contemporary Black culture through bold mixed-media artworks.

Blending vivid colour, texture, and symbolism, she creates pieces that celebrate the richness of her dual heritage while sparking conversations around race, representation, and belonging. Her practice spans painting, collage, textiles, and installation, each medium used to tell stories that are both deeply personal & universally resonant.

DENIM RECON LONDON
